The SW11 Literary Festival takes place across multiple venues & dates every September and is an annual celebration of all genres of writing, celebrating the best literary talents of the area and welcoming those from further afield. Lorinda Freint - Clapham Junction town centre manager - organises the festival in conjunction with Waterstone's. We are grateful to all the organisers, sponsors & participants, who bring this huge series of events to SW11. The ongoing support from Wandsworth Council make the festival a highlight of the year in Battersea.
We would like to give special thanks to our returning sponsor: ASPACE children's furniture store for their continued support and for hosting the "Chidlren's Monster Ball" event which will feature themed activities and a story reading from the children's author: Priya Desai, in their store at 144, Northcote Road. We also welcome Douglas & Gordon estate agents as an official Sponsor of the Literary Festival 2011 and thank them for their support. We are also pleased to introduce Jottify as a partner for this year's Festival. Jottify is an on-line community for all writers to share, discuss and sell anything they have done; it is Flickr for writers!
An exciting creative writing project will run throughout the festival, centered around this year's chosen theme: the SW11 Monster Hunt is lots of fun for all ages. This project includes a digital version, so participants can use a phone and/or a pencil to take part. The winner will win £100 worth of vouchers.
