Dowload the 2009 programme here: SW11 Literary Festival Programme
The 2009 Literary festival is over for another year... Thank you very much to all the writers and supporters of the festival, we hope you enjoyed it as much as we did. We will be back next summer with the new programme for the 2010 SW11 LIterary Festival. For those of you who dont know, the festival takes place annually in September, and provides the opportunity to engage first hand with novelists, historians, poets, translators, screenwriters, journalists, essayists, and thinkers. There are writing workshops, talks, performance poetry events and writing competitions.
Lorinda Freint the Clapham Junction town centre manager organises the festival together with Waterstone's. The ongoing support from Wandsworth Council and Waterstone’s make the festival a highlight of the year in Battersea.
We had two very exciting competitions during this year’s festival: ‘Battersea Poems’ and ‘My favourite recipe’. Thank you to the Recipease team and Blink Media for their input in helping us develop these projects. The winners of the Poetry competition will be announced in November (the competition closes at the end of October 2009) and the winners of the recipe competition are listed on the Recipe competition page.
